5 Free Security Softwares – Must Use

by Admin on February 21, 2009

Welcome back!

Google Buzz

Here are 5 Free Security Softwares that you can use to combat your fear against Adwares, Viruses, Trojans, etc.

1.Avast Home Edition: Best Free Antivirus

Avast is one of the best antiviruses I recommend to my friends. It is free and has many features which many of the Antiviruses lack. I have known it for more than 3 years. Until now no virus, Spywares, Adwares, Worms or Trojan has been able to invade my computer. It protects you from IP attacks as well. It has Web Shield, Standard Shield, Email Shield, P2P Shield etc. It has a very nice user friendly interface and the scanning is faster than most of the Antivirus out there. Use it to know it better.

2. Comodo Firewall Pro: Best Free Firewall

Comodo is very well known in the field of security, especially web security. They provide many free and paid products but the best ever software they produced is their Firewall. Its free and no other firewall is as good as this one. I have been a tester of firewalls. If you search on internet about leak test you will know that the only Firewall to pass the entire leak test is no other than Comodo Firewall. I personally downloaded leak test softwares and tested it myself. It passed with 100% score. It is very powerful and no software can transfer data to internet without your approval.

Warning: This software is very powerful. It sometimes become annoying approving access to softwares (after some days it will be OK, it won’t disturb you much) but if you are very much concerned about security then this is the best.

3. Key Scrambler Personal: Best Free Anti Key logger for internet users (Browser Add-on)

Are you worried about key loggers? Someone might have installed a key logger in your computer and using it to get your usernames and passwords. That person might know which sites you are visiting. Well do not worry much, here is the best solution. Use Key Scrambler. It works as a layer between any monitoring systems (Key loggers etc). When you type anything this software scrambles whatever you type. For example you typed “Apple” but key logger will not be able to catch it, instead it will get wrong data like “:T7$n”. So you are safe from key loggers. I am using it for more than a year.

4. RoboForm: Best Password Management Software

Ok so by using Key Scrambler you are safe from key loggers but think if you do not have to type you username and password at all, no data will be stolen. This is what RoboForm can do. RoboForm is the best in Password Managements. It can store your passwords and you can secure all your username and password data with a master password. You do not need to remember all your login data. With one click you can input you login data in website and login without typing anything. It saves a lot of time, especially if you have lots of memberships/login. I have membership at more than 100 sites, so I use RoboForm to mange my logins. You can use RoboForm for free with full feature and automation if you have not more than 10 logins.

5. Advanced System Care Free: Best Free Utility for Windows

OK I agree this is not a security software, than why is it listed here. Just two reasons, first it has Spyware Removal, which detects the presence of Spywares and removes them and also protect from them in advance. The other is Privacy Sweep; (remember we also need to be protected from data theft). You need to remove the tracking cookies placed by many website. Some are safe but some might be harmful. Privacy Sweep removes those data and makes you system cleaner. (I also advice to use the ‘Junk Clean File’ option in it. You can save lot of hard disk space.)

Hope this list is useful for you.

What is a 3-Way Link Exchange?

by Admin on February 20, 2009

Google Buzz

Hi Guys.

This post is about What a 3-Way Link Exchange is!

A three-way link exchange refers to a kind of reciprocal link exchange among three domains instead of two. A reciprocal link exchange that is so popular today among webmasters is mostly a two-way linking.

Although there is a benefit in exchanging links in terms of SEO, it is said that search engines might not think such links are “natural”. While linking to another website is the core of the Internet, and this net is really built with millions of links, creating the dynamic of network, excessive reciprocal linking could be considered as a link scheme such as link farms.

To make reciprocal links look more “natural”, you can try a three-way link exchange.

reciprocal link exchangeIn normal reciprocal link exchange, you and your link partner exchange links with each other. Search engines can easily find that out. So, if you have many reciprocal links going in and out, each linking may not be weighed for the maximum value; thus your website may not increase PageRank faster.

reciprocal three way link exchange

In a three-way link exchange, three different domains must be involved. For example, site A links to site B, but not B to A. So, site B is only receiving a one-way link from site A and NOT linking back to it. Likewise, site C and site A are linked from one site but not linking back. Instead, site C and A are simply reciprocal-linking to different domains.

The way to create more natural links in a three-way link exchange is done by using a set of three one-way links. A, B, and C are only receiving one-way links, and they do not directly link back.

It is even harder for search engines to detect a link scheme if your link building strategy is based on three-way links because this pattern is usually seen in many websites in the Internet. To make it better, you can try four-way or even five-way link exchange. It is almost guaranteed that you could get the maximum result to increase your PageRank. In other words, 3-way link exchange is an attempt to disguise reciprocal link exchange.

You can check your Pagerank / Alexa Rank / Backlinks here.

If you have any questions/difficulties, please ask them here.

Love – a wildly misunderstood although highly desirable malfunction of the heart which weakens the brain, causes eyes to sparkle, cheeks to glow, blood pressure to rise and the lips to pucker.

Happy Valentines Day.

Back links are simply a link from somewhere else to your site. It sounds easy to create them and it is easy, but you will need thousands of these links and you will need new ones every month. They may only take a minute to create but to create hundreds or thousands take lots of time and talent. Read more about Backlinking here.

Back links are really important in the world of Search Engine Optimization. If you want your site to do well in search engine listing results you have to have a good page ranking. If you want a higher page ranking you’re going to need to create lots and lots of back links.

It takes time and talent to do this but it will be worth it. Google receives 3,000 search inquiries a second. That’s 180,000 per minute. If you want your share of this avalanche of free business, you will need to work hard and work smart.

How Many Links Do You Need?

Lots and Lots. You need more than the competitor that is ranked number one with Google. If you do that, you will be number one. Let’s take a look at a few areas and see how many we would need to dominate that field.

- Top company in “search engine optimization” had 52,100 links

- Top company in “web site design” had 54,200 links

- Top Company in “custom T-shirts” had 72,000 links

- Top Company in “Tiffany Lamps” had 825 links

As you can see, the more competitive the area, the more links it takes to be number one. Plan to add as many links as you can every month for as long as you stay in business. Remember that your competitors are adding new links every month too, so the number of links you need keeps growing.

Beware Of Short Cuts To Success

As you surf the web, you will see sites that advertise short cuts to link creation. They offer to sell you hundreds of links. As you evaluate these services, realize that the quality of your links is important to your success. The sites you link to must concern themselves with similar topics to your site or they may be disregarded by the search engines. Also, the quality of the linking site is important. If the site is known for spam or porn, you may be seriously penalized search engine rankings just for being associated with it. Buying back links is fraught with danger. Choosing the site you link and actually creating the link to is a much better alternative.

You can read more about avoiding Linking Mistakes here.

Using Articles To Create Links

Writing informative articles is a great way to create back links. You can use the articles on your site and publish them to article directory sites. Every site that publishes your article will create a back link to your site. Other sites may pick up your article and publish it creating “viral” publishing and more links. You should assign someone to write one or two articles every month without fail or hire an outside source to do this for you.

Using Videos To Create Links

Another great way to create links and sell as well is to create video clips that tell your story or sell your product in an interesting way. You can use these clips to sell on your site and you can publish them to video sites like youtube.com, metacafe.com, viddler.com and many others. These get great rankings in the search engines. You should assign someone to write one or two articles every month without fail or hire an outside source to do this for you.

Using Social Networks To Create Links

Social networks like myspace.com are great ways to create quality links. Myspace is one of the most visited sites on the web, so links from it make your site rank as very popular. To create links from social sites, open an account, link to others with similar interests, and make comments that include a link to your site.

Using Blogs To Create Links

sBlogs want comments from readers. Visit blogs on similar topics to yours and on any popular blogs, leave a comment on a posting. Your comment can contain a link to your site. This should not be just self serving but should continue the dialog. For example, if your site deals with web marketing and you see a blog article on meta tags, you might make a comment like, “excellent article with good points. I also found good meta tag tools at www.yoursite.com” One great way to find good blogs is to set up a Google alert for all keywords you use and you will be notified anytime a post is made with those key words. Then, you simply visit the blog and make a comment.

That Sounds Like A Lot Of Work

It is a huge amount of work but just keep remembering those 180,000 inquiries per second. If you do not have the time to do this kind of work, there are micro ad agencies on the web who can do it for you. Outsourcing this work is very cost effective as it allows you to keep selling and managing while someone else creates the links that drive your site to the top of the inquiry list.

If you have any questions, you can ask them here.

You probably have a few favorite keyboard shortcuts for formatting text – like Ctrl + B for applying boldface, Ctrl + I for applying italics, Ctrl + U for underlining, and maybe Ctrl + L to left-align text. But Word provides buttons for those tasks on the Formatting toolbar, so any efficiency gains are kind of a toss-up.

The real convenience lies in knowing some more obscure keyboard shortcuts – the ones that have no default button equivalents and that can save users from having to scrounge around dialog boxes looking for the appropriate options. Here are some shortcuts that are especially good for users to have under their belt.

Keystroke Function
Ctrl + Shift + D Double underline the selected text
Ctrl + ] Increase the size of selected text by 1 point
Ctrl + [ Decrease the size of selected text by 1 point
Ctrl + Shift + A Make selected text all caps
Ctrl + = Toggle subscripting for selected text
Ctrl + + Toggle superscripting for selected text
Ctrl + Shift + Q Apply Symbol font to selected text
Ctrl + Shift + N Apply Normal style to current paragraph
Ctrl + Alt + 1 Apply Heading 1 style to current paragraph
Ctrl + Alt + 2 Apply Heading 2 style to current paragraph
Ctrl + Alt + 3 Apply Heading 3 style to current paragraph
Ctrl + Shift + L Apply List Bullet style
Ctrl + 0 (zero) Apply or remove space above current paragraph

Migrate Your Feedburner Accounts by Feb 28th

by Admin on February 10, 2009

Google Buzz

Since Google’s acquisition of Feedburner in June 2007, everything were been running normally on their original servers and software, but Google has different plans. All Feedburner accounts need to transfer their feeds to the Google system by February 28th, 2009 in order to maintain seamless feed traffic.

I just moved all of my feeds to try out the system, and I can attest that it is quick and painless. Everything is fine now.

Here are the steps:

  1. Log into your account at http://www.feedburner.com
  2. When you login with your old account information, a window asking for transferring you or to continue to the old feedburner will pop. You need to click in the Migrate button.
  3. It then confirms if you are already signed in as a Google account-holder and asks if you’d like to use that account, another account, or create a new Google account to manage your feeds. You can choose the option according to your needs.
  4. After that step, you just need to confirm which feeds will be transferred, and you’re done.

All in all, it took about 3 minutes to move them all. The new Feedburner login page is http://feedburner.google.com.

Check your feed numbers before transferring, so you will know if the transfer went ok. Google said, it is not a problem with our feeds, since they will be redirected to them.

If you had any problems while migrating, you can share them here.

Houston computers affected by virus

by Admin on February 10, 2009

Google Buzz

A virus is playing havoc with the municipal court operations in Houston.

The court system had to close down Friday afternoon after a computer virus affected access to data on court cases. Courtroom operations aren’t expected to be back in business before Thursday morning.

People can pay fines and conduct other court business, but judges will not call dockets. Those with court dates for misdemeanor cases will be notified by mail of their new dates.

The virus hit 475 of the city’s 16,000 computers and infected part of Microsoft Windows that handles the login process.

Gwendolyn Goins, spokeswoman for the court system, says she does not know how many cases have been affected. She said there’s no evidence the virus was released deliberately.
