Paypal India had blocked personal payment transactions to and from Indian accounts on around 5th Feb. This caused a lot of issues especially for IT developers who used to freelance for foreign markets and charge purely via the use of Paypal. Their payments were reversed by Paypal. Paypal also halted bank withdrawals for the Indian users.
But, I received I mail today from Paypal saying that they’ll resume bank withdrawals in India soon. Here’s what the mail says:
You can also read more about the update on PayPal blog. Hope the services will be resumed soon.

The Symbian Foundation has unveiled the Symbian^3 (S^3) platform.
S^3 is the first entirely open source release following the platform’s transition to an open source license earlier this month.
S^3 is expected to be “feature complete” by the end of Q1.
Lee M. Williams, Executive Director of the Symbian Foundation, said: “S^3 is another huge milestone in the evolution of our platform. Now that it is fully open source, the door is open to individual contributors, device creators and third-party developer companies, as well as other organizations, to create more compelling products and services than ever before. We have enjoyed significant momentum since we completed S^2, with companies including Sun, Nokia, Ixonos, Comarch and Accenture, among others, contributing to S^3. We are now looking to build on this momentum and remain on course to complete S^4 later this year.”
Here’s a video from Nokia that gives you a peek at some of the more visual enhancements in Symbian^3:
Microsoft is planning to launch new mobile OS, 7 (branded as Seven) to challenge the Google’s Android and Apple’s iPhone OS.
Windows series 7 OS is to be shipped in two flavors: one for OEM and business customers, and a media-oriented version for consumers called the Media Edition. Both versions will support manufacturers overlaying their own interfaces, a la Windows Mobile 6.5. WMExperts claims that while we’ll probably see Seven at MWC, it won’t be a full product yet, since the launch is late 2010: we should just see HD video playback, a Zune-like media interface, and some of the UI, but not all.
WMExperts also has a first look at some of the hardware we should expect to run Seven: the LG apollo and HTC Obsession. According to WMExperts, these will profoundly outclass any other smartphone out there, since both have 1GHz+ Snapdragon processors, 3.7-inch AMOLED screens, and 512MB to 1GB of RAM.
But, both Android and iPhone OS will have plenty of time till then to challenge Seven.
The new update of WordPress fixes a security vulnerability that was previously reported by Thomas Mackenzie on his personal blog. The vulnerability affects all Wordpress installations with the version number 2.9.0 or later. Previous Wordpress installations are not affected by the vulnerability (but are insecure because of other reasons).
Thomas Mackenzie alerted us to a problem where logged in users can peek at trashed posts belonging to other authors. If you have untrusted users signed up on your blog and sensitive posts in the trash, you should upgrade to 2.9.2. As always, you can visit the Tools->Upgrade menu to upgrade.
