GEVEY Sim for iPhone 4 is available for more than 20 days now. Impatient iPhone 4 users can now buy GEVEY for about $60 and free their iPhone 4 basebands, including 02.10.04, 03.10.01 and 04.10.01..
Dill Huang, who has been trying to make a programmable 112 exploit for iPhone 4 users has revealed that the same exploit works with iPhone 3GS on baseband 05.16.02. Ultrasn0w unlock for baseband 05.16.02 is not yet available. Instead, iPad-upgrade-baseband method is available to unlock iPhone 3GS on iOS 4.1 and later.
Good news: 112 exploit works on BB 5.16.02 as well, so theoretically a larger version of Gevey should work for your 3G/3Gs as well
So, maybe GEVEY producers will also launch a larger version of GEVEY Sim for iPhone 3GS. If that’s the case, then iPhone users who don’t want to upgrade to iPad baseband for the unlock will be able to see signals on their iPhones. iPad baseband is reported to have some Navigation problems on iPhone 3GS. So lets wait and see what comes ahead..

Hey my gevey sim works perfect up until the last part of instructions,
I get full bars for approximately 1 minute but then they all dissapear and get a message saying Invalid Sim at the top.

i tried using gevey (iphone 4) on my 3gs (5.15.04 BB with 4.1 iOS)
yes, ive mannage to ACCEPT the message, dial 112, and turn on airplane mode, but on the airplane mode, no MESSAGE came out, even after 10 whole mins…
so basically, i think this will never work,
by the way, on the gevey sim of iphone4 putting it in 3gs, you kinda need to TAPE-IT-out, and align it properly and also the CHIP of the gevey sim, you need to cut a HOLE on the SIM it self for the gevey to fit properly…
best work-around… cut the sim with the SIM CUTTER but dont throw away the CUT ones or the RESIDUE, then on the part of the RESIDUE plastic, properly figure out and CUT THE PORTION where the CHIP OF THE GEVEY will be place MANUALLY.
With this method, its the best way to align the gevey properly also THE EASIEST way to cut the HOLE for the CHIP of the GEVEY.
Then tape properly everything out, but dont over tape it or it will THICKEN.
even though it has been perfectly matched out, still… no progress… no message after airplane mode….

i have one iPhone 3gs with ios 3.1 but i upgrade it with ios 5.0.1 wrongly my iphone have new bootroom so update have also change baseband to 05.16.06 here is no any unlock for this baseband please guide me if gevey sim work for me and how or any other suggestion will be highly appreciated thanks
Try updating to iPad baseband using the latest redsn0w.
Did you seriously just tell this guy to update to an ipad baseband? He said he has a 3gs new bootrom. unless I am mistaken, you cant update to ipad because of the toshiba bb chip.
I suppose his iPhone has old bb chip, as he mentioned he was on iOS 3.1.

Gevey is not available for iPhone 3GS.
Guys i have iphone 3gs with OS 5.0.1 and baseband 05.16.05, i know it could have been unlocked if my phone had old chip, but its series starts from QR142XX which means it has latest chip. Now I think it has a chances of getting bricked(not sure). Now what should I do shall i take a risk of unlocking it or wait for gevey SIM option..
80% of iPhone 3GS users on new baseband chip have successfully unlocked by flashing the iPad baseband. But risk is involved.
And I don’t think Gevey will be available for iPhone 3GS. Also if your iPhone is AT&T locked, you can get it factory unlocked atm using services from Cutyoursim.com for about $185.
