10 Do’s And Don’ts To Increase Your RSS Count!

These days RSS count became the important factor to decide the popularity of the Blogs.You can’t deny that right? Yes, We have to agree to the fact anyway :) . But why this became the deciding factor now. Ha that’s just because think for a second, what would be in your mind when you see a 10k RSS count blog and 100 count blog. Good got the answer right?

We can’t imagine the count how many blogs coming to web daily. Apart from normal(search engine) visitors, each and every blogger is subscribing and following one or the other blog for sure. This is how the chain goes and pushes RSS factor up and up. So, we need to go with the market and for that we need certain respectable counts on our blogs.

Everything is fine but, How to push the count up? And what are Do’s and Don’ts around this? Today we are going around all about RSS, Tips to increase, Do’s and Don’ts. Here we Go…

Do’s: These are the basic/startup tips which you can follow to increase your count to certain extent.

  1. Offer easy and handy subscribe forms on all the pages of your blog
  2. Remind your first time visitors to subscribe, by offering form at start/end of your article
  3. Put a single and effective word beside subscription form saying “Subscription is free and it won’t cost/disturb you in anyway”
  4. Explain your visitors about benefits they get by subscribing
  5. Be active on blogging by posting consistently or daily
  6. Say thanks and ask your each and every commenter to subscribe to your feeds.
  7. Run some contests and offer prizes to your random subscribers and Offer a full feed
  8. Develop and post a privacy policy for your Web site.
  9. Ask your friends/colleagues to subscribe and refer to their contacts too
  10. Monitor your feedburner weekly and take corrective action toward ‘unverified’ and ‘Inactive’ subscribers.

Don’ts: These are the basic/startup things which you shouldn’t do to keep live in blogosphere and to get more count on your chicklet.

  1. Don’t disturb people by subscribing their mail ids intentionally and ask them to verify the link
  2. Don’t gamble the count with Photoshop or by any means
  3. Don’t take rest for too many days with out posting
  4. Don’t use pop-ups asking to subscribe to feeds or email newsletter with Aweber
  5. Don’t hide/remove the unsubscribe option. Allow users to unsubscribe when don’t want the service
  6. Your subscribers mail id list is an asset that only you can use; do not sell or rent it
  7. Personally Don’t email your subscribers asking to do some favor. This will decrease your status
  8. Don’t ask people to donate bucks until you have a non-profit and useful blog
  9. Don’t offer the books download for subscribing unless they are own/written by you
  10. Don’t mail and ask the reasons to people unsubscribed from your list
