Recently while upgrading my friend’s iPhone 4 to iOS 5, I was facing error 14 in iTunes. I tried to restore a couple of times. I even tried by putting the iPhone in pwned DFU mode using iReb. But no success.

I googled the problem to find the solution. Error 14 in iTunes is caused because of a corrupt iOS 5 IPSW file.
How To Fix Error 14 in iTunes?
Note: This solution works for all iOS versions (iOS 5 & earlier)
If you’re upgrading to iOS 5 via iTunes directly:
1. Delete the previously downloaded software update file which you will find in this location depending on your system:
Mac: /users//Library/iTunes/iPhone Software Updates
Windows XP: System Drive:/Documents and Settings/Application Data/Apple Computer/iTunes/iPhone Software Updates
Windows 7: System Drive:/Users/Your Username/App Data/Apple Computer/iTunes/iPhone Software Updates
If you faced the error while upgrading your iPad or iPod, the last location path will change:
../iTunes/iPod Software Updates or ../iTunes/iPad Software Updates
2. Now, restart iTunes & begin the update again. This time iTunes will download a fresh copy of software update file.
If you’re trying to restore by using the downloaded iOS 5 IPSW file:
1. Re-download the IPSW file.
2. Now, restore to this newly downloaded IPSW file via iTunes.

For the price of a cup of coffee, Track Packages is one of the most versatile worldwide shipping trackers you can get your hands on. If you want a basic program that’s not carrier-specific to track multiple shipments from a number of different providers, Track Packages is the app to beat. With built-in barcode scanning functionality and a clean and simple interface, Track Packages lives up to its name by providing a frustration-free experience and admirably accurate shipment tracking.
It’s difficult to imagine what life was like prior to the creation of FedEx. Quite frankly, we’re not sure it’s a world we want to live in. The FedEx Mobile application does pretty much everything you’d expect it to do without a lot of fuss. Keep an eye on all your FedEx
One of the most rock-solid and reliable carriers on the planet, UPS offers reasonable rates and impeccable customer service in many countries. With the UPS Mobile application from the iTunes Store, you can track all your shipments using your unique My UPS ID number. In addition to standard tracking and status updates, the app also allows you to create and print shipping labels on the fly from the convenience of your home or office.
The fine people at June Cloud are responsible for this comprehensive, all-in-one tracker program. Their latest offering, Delivery Status Touch 4.4, keeps tabs on shipments from nearly every major carrier you can think of. So whether you ship with UPS, FedEx, USPS, TNT or DHL, Delivery Status has you covered with up-to-the-minute updates on the status of your deliveries no matter where they are in the world.
Although there are many free shipping applications available from the iTunes Store, sometimes it’s worth it to shell out money for an application like Overnight. Easily the most powerful tracking application in use on the iOS platform, Overnight has more features than you’ll probably ever use. It includes highly accurate price quote estimators, drop-off location finders and more for every major carrier currently in operation around the globe. If you’re going to spend a few bucks for a worldwide shipping tracker, this is the one to buy. At present, Amazon can’t just E-mail a new laptop to your inbox. So we have to wait for FedEx and UPS to do the grunt work for us. Fortunately, we have tools like the aforementioned shipment tracking applications to give us peace of mind. So whether you run your own small business or are simply waiting for your latest purchase to arrive in the mail, you can now keep an eye on all your fancy new gadgets while they’re en route.
Reeder is probably one of the most basic options available for the iPhone. It syncs with your Google Reader account and imports all of that content seamlessly. Aesthetically it deviates from the typical black and white with a softer parchment background that makes reading feel a bit better. There are also options to share content through email, Delicious, Twitter, and a few other options as well. For a barebones app it works pretty well. Unfortunately, there are no subscription capabilities within the app, but for only $2.99 it’s still a pretty good deal.
Byline has all the features of the previous app, but with the ability to browse offline as well. It has two-way syncing with your Google Reader account. It is continually updating the cache for the feeds you follow so if you get stuck in a dark subway tunnel, you can have plenty of content to browse until your eventual rescue. Oh yeah… it’s only $2.99 as well and can hold up to 1,000 items in its offline cache, including images.
Doppler is also a standard RSS reader, but with more positives. Not only does it sync to Google, it will also update your Google feed as read, etc. to correspond with what you’ve done in the app. It also has offline reading capabilities, and it has the ability to only download/sync selected feeds from your Google Reader account as opposed to syncing the whole thing. This can allow you to only take the “essentials” with you on the road. Oh… and most importantly, it’s only a third of the price of the previous apps at 99 cents.
This app has a lot of the same features as the previous apps when it comes to Google Reader syncing, but there is one huge difference. It also syncs to the NetNewsWire desktop application! For me this is a big deal. I use NetNewsWire on my desktop all day long for all of my RSS feeds, so it’s nice to have my apps on the computer and my phone working together. It’s also free (ad-supported) with a $2.99 option for the premium ad-free version.
This has become my favorite RSS app by far over the last few months. NewsRack combines the functionality of many of the other RSS readers with an absolutely beautiful interface that’s fun to use. The main screen displays an array of “newspapers” with headlines from your most recent feeds. This makes browsing fairly enjoyable and I tend to enjoy it more than a plain menu of text. Additionally, it has an option for a slideshow view in the iPad version. I could go on about this one for a while (because I use it all the time), but you should check it out and really let it speak for itself. It’s beautiful, functional, and checks in at $4.99. Worth it!
