Redsn0w 0.9.6rc14 has been released for Mac & Windows to give untethered jailbreak for iDevices on iOS 4.3.2. Apple released iOS 4.3.2 a few days back to fix Wi-fi issues on iPad. Hopefully, it did not patch i0n1c’s kernel exploit. i0n1c just had to generate new kernel payload to apply the untethered jailbreak.
The 4.3.2 untether works on all iDevices that actually support 4.3.2 except for the iPad2:
iPhone3GS
iPhone 4 (GSM)
iPod touch 3G
iPod touch 4G
iPad1
If you’re ultrasn0w unlocker, do not update using redsn0w. Wait for the release of Pwnage Tool (MAC) or Sn0wbreeze (Windows).
Sn0wbreeze 2.6 is almost ready. iH8Sn0w just needs to implement i0n1c’s new binary for the exploit to work. Here’s a tweet by iH8Sn0w mentioning the same:
Apple has released iOS 4.3.1. Apple has made several minor fixes and improvements to the iOS 4.3. The build number is 8G4. It fixes a graphics glitch for the 4th-gen iPod Touch and some issues with connecting to cellular networks.
The update is available for GSM iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPad 1 & 2 and 3rd & 4th gen of iPod Touch. The update is not available for Verizon iPhone users — who are still on 4.2.6. It apparently doesn’t fix rumored battery life issues with iOS 4.3, but it’s still worth updating, especially if you’ve had connection issues with your cell carrier.
You can update to iOS 4.3.1 directly via iTunes 10.2.1 or here are direct download links:
Jailbreakers, especially with iPad 2 are advised to stay away from this update. Also, unlockers beware before updating. There’s no going back.
Also, no one has yet confirmed the working of GEVEY Sim on iOS 4.3.1. I think this version has the same baseband as that of iOS 4.3, 04.10.01, but no one has yet tried using GEVEY Sim with this update.
On the same day, iOS 4.3 is also going to be released. Apple alreaded seeded iOS 4.3 Beta 3 to developers 2-3 weeks back.
iOS 4.3 features the Nitro Javscript engine from Safari on OS X, new iTunes Home Sharing features that let you play content from desktop iTunes over WiFi, and the updated suite of AirPlay which includes the ability for App Store apps to share audio and video.
Apple’s also finalizing the new option that lets you assign the side switch to either rotation lock or mute. Personal Hotspot support is also coming for the iPhone 4. It’ll be a free download for both the iPads, the GSM iPhone 4, the iPhone 3GS and the third- and fourth-gen iPod touch when it’s released on March 11. The release date for Verizon iPhone 4 is still unknown.
