A prolific blogger is someone who writes—a lot. The more posts your blog has, the more readers you’ll get. In addition, if you have more valuable content on your blog, the better page rank you’ll get from the top search engines.

To ensure that you will always have something interesting to write about on your blog, here are surefire ways in finding those elusive, great topics:

One Verb: Read

Newspapers

Take stories from national newspapers and magazines. Read other people’s blogs. Subscribe to publications related to your niche. The more information you have about things that matter to your readers, the more interesting topics you can provide for your blog. Information can either be on controversial news, national trends and other hot topics that can help you provide updated and vital information for your readers.

Socialize

Social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter and Google+ are a treasure trunk of blog topics. Most businesses and industries use these portals to update their market about the latest events and products they have in store for their clients. Most of the time, the most interesting topics are what’s viral on these social networking sites.

Twitter

To make sure that you always get the latest updates on stuff that are shaking the world over, use a toolbar such as Zugo that is equipped with links to these social networking giants.

Write a Part 2 or Part 3

Look for posts on your blog that have received massive attention from your readers. Take a good look at the topics and write a sequel. If you have done something good with your previous blog posts, then writing a part 2 for these posts will not hurt your blog and will give your readers an impression that you are consistent with the quality of your content.

Do Reviews

Review books, movies, gadgets or apps related to your niche. Writing an insightful and intelligent review on things relevant to your field of interest will help establish your credibility as a blogger. As long as you don’t bash products on your site and you only write the reviews on a critical yet constructive approach, your readers will know that you considered every aspect of the subject for your review. In addition, you will get the attention of companies and have them offer their products for you to review.

Attend Events

Join local community events as well those that are related to your industry. This way, you can meet the movers and shakers in your niche. Meet people. Do a shameless plugging of your blog and ask their opinions on issues relevant to your industry.
