The untethered jailbreak for iOS 6.x was released this week. The jailbreak tool is called “Evasi0n.” This tool provides untethered jailbreak for all iOS devices including the latest iPhone 5, iPad 4th gen & iPad mini running iOS 6 through iOS 6.1.

If you own an iPhone 4 and use Gevey sim to unlock it, and are wondering whether to update to iOS 6.1, then the answer is yes. You can preserve the baseband and update to iOS 6.1 using sn0wbreeze. Then you can use Gevey sim to use any carrier worldwide. Gevey sim works on iPhone 4 with basebands 02.10, 03.10 & 04.10. Gevey Ultra also works fine on iOS 6.1. You must install FuriousMod for automatic 112 process.

Here’s a pic via @Assad_D that shows Gevey works fine on iPhone 4 running iOS 6.1 with preserved baseband.

In the above image, the iPhone 4 shows only one signal bar. This is because of 02.10.04 baseband. This problem doesn’t occur with 03.10 & 04.10 basebands. To fix this issue, you must install the latest ultrasn0w which supports iOS 6.1. Read this article for more details:
